Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen has spent her life immersed in rock ’n’ roll. Her journey began at age 10, when she attended her first concert and felt the electricity of live music for the very first time. From that day on, she knew her life would be dedicated to the world of rock.
Growing up in the suburbs of St. Louis, Alison promoted local bands using handmade flyers and pure passion. After high school, she interned with a music-marketing firm, helping promote national tours and contributing to the early rise of bands like Buckcherry, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Clutch, and others.
Her career quickly evolved into retail and touring. She managed a rock-clothing store and later spent four summers on the road with Ozzfest as a vendor — including a once-in-a-lifetime moment joining Ozzy Osbourne onstage during the final encore of the 1999 tour.
In 2004, Alison graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Marketing & Communications, then moved to Hollywood to pursue her dream. By 2006, she launched Metal Babe Mayhem (originally Metal Babe Productions), along with the now-iconic Lips & Bones logo — a symbol recognized by rock fans worldwide.
Alison is also a highly respected rock journalist, having published hundreds of interviews, reviews, and articles since 2008. Her work has appeared in All Access Magazine, Sin City Presents, Highwire Daze, Metal Sludge, Rockwell Unscene, and many more. She has interviewed everyone from iconic legends to emerging underground acts — all with the same passion and respect.
Alison often describes herself as two people in one:
By day, she’s thoughtful, creative, and hands-on with design, writing, and business.
By night, she’s “Metal Babe” — out at shows, connecting with friends and musicians, capturing the scene, and living the lifestyle she promotes.
Nearly two decades later, Alison remains driven by the same fire that started it all: to unite music and fashion, support musicians of all levels, and keep rock ’n’ roll alive across the globe.
